I finally got around to restoring the flash of my Polaroid 360! I followed this How-To Guide for the detailed instructions of the repair. But there are a few extra details I thought others might be interested in hearing about when they attempt the procedure.

Recipe:
1 bottle of Everclear (1000ml) (For less kick, use Vodka.)
10 large lemons
6.5 cups of water
6 cups of sugar

Preparation:
Wash the lemons thoroughly. Use a zester or potato peeler to remove the rind from the lemons. Be sure there is none of the bitter white pith on the rind peelings. You want the pure lemon essence. Place the peelings in a jar or container and pour in the Everclear.

Now let sit for eight days or longer. During this steeping process, the lemon will infuse it’s great flavor into the alcohol. When you can’t wait any longer, strain the peelings from the alcohol.

Make simple syrup. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar and water and bring to a fast simmer for 15 minutes. Let the simple syrup cool to room temperature and then mix with the lemon-infused alcohol.

The Limoncello is now ready to drink. For best flavor, chill/store the Limoncello in the freezer before drinking. I recommend drinking it only in small doses. It’s powerful!

Lately I’ve fallen into the whole 8mm movie craze thats sweeping the country. In the past month I’ve purchased about 10 8mm movies, 3 projectors, and 1 movie camera (to go with the 3 movie cameras I already own.) Its been another one of those deals where a new interest meshes with an old interest.

Sometimes separate hobbies and interests come together in rare, unexpected, and fun ways. And when it does its worth talking about. In my case, my love of photography with old film cameras met my love of The Night Stalker. For those of you not in the know, The Night Stalker was an early 70′s movie-of-the-week turned short-lived TV series. The basic plot is overly curious news reporter, Carl Kolchak, investigates stories that have paranormal causes. The usual stuff a reporter covers, vampires, succuba, moss monsters, etc. It kept me riveted to the TV as a kid because it was had so much scary fun to watch.
